Name(s):Elkkit ElkpawElkshadow
Gender:
Tom
Age:
36 moons
Clan:
ThunderClan
Rank:
Deputy
Appearance:
Looking at Elkshadow, one may feel a little intimidated, if not frightened. He has thick, strong muscles that ripple beneath his fur when he walks. His legs are long but stocky- some may say that he has the powerful appearance of a well-fed RiverClan cat. Elkshadow's toes, like an actual tiger's, are elongated. Because of this, his claws are much longer than the average cat's, giving him the upper-hand in battling. His paws are also huge. Due to his solid build, he isn't such a great hunter. He especially isn't good at hunting birds, which are a lot faster than mice or voles. Elkshadow has a large, rounded head and big, expressive ears. His white whiskers are long and droopy. His fur is medium length and his tail has a slightly bigger tip (like an actual tiger). His nose is a soft, delicate pink; quite the opposite from the rest of his appearance and personality. His jaw and large and square-shaped (again, giving him the appearance of a tiger).
Elkshadow's pelt is a tabby- he is a rather plain looking, dark gray tabby tom. The main color of his fur is nearly black, but he has thick, large black stripes running across his body. The thickest stripe runs down from the back of his head to his lower haunch area. His tail is ringed with black and brown alternating, like an odd-colored raccoon. These stripes cut across his sides coming from this dominant stripe until they reach his belly and continue to wrap around his other side. They stripes continue to wrap around his neck, chest, and legs. He has a small splash of white on his chest and near his eyes, which are a dull gray color. His muzzle and paws are also white. His face has the typically tabby stripes- one large stripe at first, but divides into three littler ones to look like an 'M'. He has stripes that run along his cheeks until they reach his eyes.
Personality:
Elkshadow is an incredibly cold, icy cat. He doesn't care about other's emotions and will often do or say things to purposely hurt other cats. His tongue is as barbed as a rose bush, having sharp replies just within grasp. If someone is rude to him, he is twice as rude than normal. He despises being nice- being kind actually takes an effort for him. He doesn't care about anyone but himself, giving him the appearance of a narcissist. Elkshadow is too cocky for his own good, giving him a lot of bad names. He has many enemies, a lot within his own Clan. To him, ThunderClan is the best Clan. He is an excellent fighter and would die to protect his Clan.
Elkshadow is aggressive and will pick fights. This is just apart of who he is. He believes that only fighting solves problems, and challenges should be met with tooth and claw, not words. He hates the other Clans, in particular ShadowClan and WindClan (he doesn't mind RiverClan since Coyotestar is from there, and even if she refuses to talk to him, he still loves her). His love for the RiverClan leader is his one and only soft spot. He gets angry very quickly, but if someone says something bad about her, he hates them automatically. Though he tends to not say anything, uncharacteristically, because he just doesn't want his Clan to know that he was padding after her.
Calculating and shrewd could also describe the ThunderClan deputy. He is very judgmental, usually telling cats what he thinks of them to their face. Elkshadow is ruthless and ambitious. He would do anything to be a leader, besides killing another cat. Even though he is an overall jerk, he can't bring himself to break the warrior code (at least in that way, since he already broke it by choosing a mate in another Clan and being the father to her kits). Lastly, Elkshadow is a "no-nonsense" sort of cat. He wants things done his way, and like it or not, a cat better do it or they'll be facing his sharp tongue. If he wasn't so rude, he would be a great leader, but since he is, he doesn't get full respect.
History:
Elkkit was born in ThunderClan. His parents were named Rainsplash, his mother, and Sunrush, his father. He had two siblings named Timberkit and Deerkit. From birth, Elkkit was always a little naughty, but aren't all kits? His arrogance and bluntness hadn't come out at the time. Like any other kit, he enjoyed getting under everyone's paws and listening to the tales told by the elders of ThunderClan. Though his favorite thing to do was play-fight with his siblings. Sometimes Sunrush would teach him a battle move (even though their mother didn't approve of it). This was also one of his favorite things to do, because his broad shoulders and thick, strong legs made him all brawn. He definitely wasn't the fastest or smartest of the three, but he made that up with pure power.
Eventually was was named an apprentice along with his siblings. He was given a rude young warrior named Thistletalon as his mentor. The young Elkpaw started out being kind and sweet, but probably due to his mentor, he turned out cold and calculating. Thistletalon was incredibly strict, often making him due his apprentice duties long after dark, and he came home long after his Clanmates had started sleeping. This made him short and just as rude as his mentor to everyone else. Despite his bad attitude, he did manage to have a few friends, though he didn't get to spend much time with them due to working from dawn to midnight.
Elkpaw wasn't a good hunter, and that's an understatement. He was a poor hunter at best, making him completely useless to the Clan in that way. He was slow and clumsy on his large paws when trying to catch prey, coming back from most hunts empty-pawed. Though he was an excellent fighter. Still a young apprentice and nearly as big as his mentor, Elkpaw was the best apprentice when it came to his battle skills. Thistletalon stressed his fighting skills- every day he learned a new move that could be used in battle. If his mentor had spent a little bit more time hunting rather than fighting, Elkpaw probably could have been equally good in both. But due to Thistletalon's obsession with battling, that was what Elkpaw was good at doing.
Overtime, Elkpaw learned to be exactly like his mentor. He picked up not only his fighting skills but his nasty spirits and rude comments. His siblings were nothing like him, but didn't resent him like he expected once he became so cruel. Elkpaw was just as strong as his father, often times beating him in practices. His mother was disappointed with his attitude and tended to say away from Elkpaw and his mentor. Though they were proud whenever he and his siblings received their warrior names, and were then called Elkshadow, Timbernose, and Deertail.
As much as Elkshadow was tough, he did have a weak spot. He met her at a Gathering. She was a RiverClan warrior named Coyotesong. He tried to convince himself that he didn't love her- any other she-cat would have been better for him if she was in ThunderClan. But he loved her with every beat of his heart, and they met very often. Later she told Elkshadow that she was expecting his kits. He was thrilled and urged her to join ThunderClan and live there with him. Though she refused- they both loved their Clans too much.
Once Coyotesong was appointed deputy, she refused to speak with Elkshadow. This left him feeling heartbroken- to cover that pain, he became even more cocky and aggressive. There were so many kits and apprentices in RiverClan, and with no cat having his distinctive tabby pelt, he didn't know who his kits were, if they were even RiverClan. He didn't know what Coyotesong did with his kits, since she was the deputy and wasn't supposed to have them. Once the old deputy of ThunderClan died, Elkshadow was appointed deputy by Lionstar. This surprised him, and from then on, he just tried to forget his mate and kits, but never succeeded. When Coyotesong was made leader, this made Elkshadow hurt more as he relived his pain.
