Name(s):
wolfkit wolfpaw wolfheart wolfstar
Gender:
tom
Age:
twenty-two moons
Clan:
riverclan
Rank:
kit apprentice warrior deputy leader
Appearance:
Wolfheart is a large, lean tom cat. He's got long, powerful legs and what seems to be an extra long tail. His paws are quite large and add to his power, though when he was younger they looked quite awkward. He's grown into them handsomely. His pelt is thick and sleek, not too long but not too short. It shows off his fit frame nicely. It's a coat of absolute night, not a single other dash of color marring the darkness. It can come across as messy now and then due to the fact the he obviously negates properly grooming it. Wolfheart is a powerhouse of a tom, standing taller and wider than most with more muscle than normal. What this tom lacks in speed, he makes up for in sheer power. Swimming comes easily to him, as if he were born in the water. Large shoulder muscles prove just that. His eyes are intense and fiery, holding nothing but passion in those striking green eyes of his.
Personality:
Wolfheart is confident. Yes, he does get afraid, he gets nervous, and he doesn't always believe in himself, but Wolfheart does his best to appear the opposite of all of this. Confidence, candor, and charm - those were the three "C's" his father drilled into his brain since he was a kit. So no matter the situation, his nerves almost never betray him. He asserts his control over a situation where it's needed and will back off as soon as there's no need of him any longer. He tends to be what his uncle once referred to him as - a phase. When the time calls, he bursts forth with such a bright shine, everyone is blinded as he takes control with confidence and strength. Then as soon as the need passes, he fades away and lets others that more capable of long term leadership take control. While he is confident in his leadership abilities, he does not desire power or control over anyone.
Wolfheart is humble. When his Clanmates bring up his good traits and his feats, he explains them away and credits it all to luck and good parenting. Surely he couldn't ave caused all these good things. It's StarClan smiling down on him, right? He constantly fears the day when his luck will finally run out, when he will be unable to live up to the compliments he so often denies. He doesn't tell anyone about that fear and keeps it tucked away under lock and key.
Wolfheart is impatient. He has a lot of energy, and he's not exactly a fan of sitting still. He has to be on the go, constantly, and he doesn't like to take a lot of time explaining things. His first apprentice found that out the hard way, realizing that to really learn anything from Wolfheart, you have to hear him the first time and then learn by watching him after that. While Silvertongue may be skilled with words and explaing things, he only enjoys it when he's not actually teaching something. He quickly becomes frustrated with hunting and isn't exactly the most talented due to his lack of patients. Battle is something that comes easily to him, something that doesn't require a lot of waiting. When he does lose his patients, he will rarely get angry, only flustered and frustrated. It's almost comical when it runs out, his pelt fluffing up and his ears going back, but hearing nothing but a frustrated snort and lots of mumbling. He does tend to make snap decisions though, following his heart more than his head. Superiors or senior warriors often look down at him for this, but it hasn't lead him astray... yet.
Wolfheart is loyal to a fault. This tom would do anything for his Clan. Anything. In his whole life, he has never loved anything more than ThunderClan, and never will love anything more. An attack on any Clanmate, whether he gets along with them or not, is catamount to a direct attack on him. He is fiercely loyal and would never betray his Clan for anything. If he had to break the code to keep his Clan safe, he'd do it in a heartbeat. He is driven to serve his Clan until the day he dies, and would never consider serving as an elder no matter how old he gets. His heart beats for ThunderClan and will stay up at all hours of the night to help take care of it.
Wolfheart is compassionate. He has quite the amount of empathy for others. He always does his best to be there for everyone, and often stretches himself too thin trying to please everyone at once. He doesn't care about that though. All he wants is for people to be happy, and he hates seeing anyone hurting or upset. He's got a big, tender heart with a lot of love to give, and more protection than anyone could ask for to boot. He's very loving and warm towards most cats, and he's easy to get along with too. Wolfheart is probably the best friend anyone could ever ask for. When it comes to lovers, he is a hopeless romantic - though any cat would be hard pressed to gain his trust after what his last mate did.
Wolfheart is determined. He has an incredible amount of drive for everything he does. His father has always taught him that quitting is never and option. If you never stop fighting, if you never give up, there's no way you can loose at anything. He's not one with high ambitions, but he will fight for anything he believes in with a passion that can't be matched. If there is a challenge set before him, he will complete it without trouble. He loves to solve problems and the feeling of triumph and honest success is one of his favorite feelings.
Wolfheart is a good-hearted tom. He really is a role model in RiverClan despite his rash tendencies. An eager student, a diligent teacher, a loyal warrior... His passion and unconditional love for for his entire Clan far outshines his need for competition, and his desire to be the best warrior he can be makes that all the better. He is well behaved and does his best to get along with everyone, he always wants to lend a helping paw, and loves to spend time with other cats. Though a problem he seems to have that he himself won't even admit... he gives out so much love, so much affection, and so much encouragement, he doesn't have any left for himself. This seemingly perfect boy has a dark personality that runs deeper than most are willing to dive, and he may just drown there one day, drown in his obsession to make everyone happy, drown in his irrational need to best himself every waking moment.
History:
beginning Wolfheart's life began as anything but simple. His father was a respected, well-known warrior of ThunderClan known as Cedarclaw. His mother was a sweet, kind-hearted, and gentle queen of RiverClan known as Appleflower. The two had met at a gathering as young apprentices and became quick friends. They soon began meeting secretly at the border, unable to stay away from each other. They fell fast in love. It was passionate and powerful, like no other, but Appleflower soon found herself carrying Cedarclaw's kits. They were frightened, enthralled, horrified, and excited. What would they do? How would the kits be affected? How would they ever raise them together?
kithood Wolfheart was born as a middle child with two brothers, Foxfoot and Jackelfang. They were born in RiverClan, with no father to claim them. It was rumored that their mother, Appleflower, had been secretly with a loner or perhaps some other Code-violating scandal. The three brothers were frequently looked down at, with the Code-abiding warriors looking down their noses at the fatherless family. This didn't phase the adventurous youngsters though. The canine named brothers were closer than close and stuck together like sap to a tree. They caused trouble, made friends, and made their way in the Clan. Wolfheart was often at the head of these escapades, despite the fact that he wasn't the oldest. His oldest brother, Jackelfang, was often the one watching over Foxfoot and Wolfheart, while Foxfoot was eternally loyal and quick on his feet. Wolfheart... well Wolfheart was the golden brother. By the time the trio reached the age of three moons, Cedarclaw broke down and left ThunderClan, narrowly able to gain acceptance from the RiverClan leader so he could be with Appleflower and his kits. The trio was wary of Cedarclaw at first, and often shunned him. They eventually warmed up to their father, though, and the entire family was soon happy. As least, it appeared so. The Clan severely mistrusted the family, whispering that the kits were dirty half-bloods, Appleflower was a traitor, and that Cedarclaw was a deserter. They held their heads high, though.
apprenticeship Their apprenticeship ceremony was emotional. Wolfheart and his brothers had been struggling to keep a firm hold on their place with RiverClan, and Wolfheart was especially determined to prove himself worthy of the Clan. As soon as he was assigned his mentor, he was eager to do any task he was given. Whether it was getting ticks off of the elders or going on a border patrol, he would do it. He often asked for more tasks and pushed himself farther than he need to, and brought his brothers along. The three were rarely seen without each other for the first few moons of their apprenticeship, but they slowly began to gain independence. They didn't lose their closeness, but they did things on their own now and discovered their own talents. Foxfoot seemed to be an excellent hunter and tracker, while Jackelfang looked to be the best at battle training. Wolfheart, on the other hand, seemed to be pushing himself in every aspect of his training, but he showed a special skill in battle training and memorization, tending to fall short in hunting. He seemed to be talented at thinking things through with drive and determination, though a bit impatient and hotheaded. These shining days didn't last long, though. Soon leaf-bare came, and it was especially harsh. Their strong, ever powerful father caught green-cough. The entire family suffered, seeing their strongest family member so weakened. When they lost him, it was devastating, perhaps the most to Appleflower. The she-cat seemed to loose most of herself that night she curled up with him when he took his last breath.
early warriorhood Not long after this devastation, the three halfblood brother received their warrior names. The ceremony was painful to go through, without their father there to puff out his chest in pride at his sons. Wolfheart, Foxfoot, and Jackelfang sat vigil that night as they should, though all three sets of green eyes were cast to the stars, searching for thier father in the vast expanse of Silverpelt. The beginning of their lives as warriors was somber and quiet. They each threw themselves into hard, grueling work, anything to distract them from the hole Cedarclaw left behind. It was at this time that Silvertongue realized just how much he loved RiverClan. Slowly, as he over worked himself and drove himself to the breaking point, he began to see the beauty in everything to do with his home. He enjoyed going to chat with the elders while he changed their bedding. His heart warmed when he was reinforcing the nursery and little kits ran into his oversized paws and attacked his tail. He felt pride and relief when he watched a queen take a bite out of a plump bit of prey he caught. He stopped for frequent conversations with those around him, truly taking an interest in each and every Clanmate. RiverClan became everything to him, and it didn't take long for his brothers to catch on. The halfblood brothers were proving themselves to be spectacular warriors, shining brightly within the Clan. They did their best to be there for their mother, but there was only so much they could do for a she-cat that refused her own sons' help.
mentoring It wasn't long before Wolfheart recieved his first apprentice, and he knew that this apprentice's survival in the Clan and the care of the Clan depended on his training. Wolfheart trained the young tom as if there was nothing else that mattered. He pushed the apprentice to the brink. Wolfheart was an interesting mentor, and a frustrating one. He was tough and he was strict, never allowing his apprentice down time unless every last thing that was asked of him was done. Punishments included rainy vigils, cleaning kit bedding, and similar jobs. Rewards including sleeping in and largest prey. Wolfheart slowly became a bit of a fatherly figure to his apprentice, affectionately taking the small tom under his wing. Not only did they train, but they tended to spend their down time together as well. Wolfheart sometimes played dumb and pretended he couldn't stand the little apprentice, but everyone knew how much he loved the smaller cat. So, when it came time for the apprentice to recieve his warrior name, Wolfheart puffed out his chest like it was his kit getting his warrior name.
late warriorhood Every tom meets that one she-cat at some point in their lives. Wolfheart never expected it to be a former kittypet, a very young one at that. He found Dotty on the border, her curiosity bring her just a little bit too close to the forest. At first he showed aggression, trying to scare her back into the twoleg nest she belonged in, but she wouldn't back down. She claimed ancestery with the Clans, that she wanted to return to the home she was meant to be in. She said she had dreams about StarClan, and they told her that there was a leader of some sort that left the Clans to be a kittypet, and he was an ancestor of hers. Wolfheart was drawn to her and believed her story. He took her back to camp, and after a few days it was left to him to train her, renaming her to Specklepaw. He began to spend more and more time with her.. and less time with Foxfoot or Jackelfang. They noticed the differents and tried talking to him. They saw right through Specklepaw's sweet and sassy facade. She was manipulative and selfish, and she certainly didn't take Clan life seriously. Wolfheart was enamoured, though, blinded by love for her. Foxfoot and Jackelfang pulled him aside again, moons later, imploring him to just see things clearly. They asked him if he ever wondered why he woke up in the middle of the night to an empty nest, where she might be. They begged him to follow her, to prove that she was not to be trusted. He told them to leave him be, and wondered why they couldn't just be happy for him. Speckleclaw was everything he'd ever wanted, though now doubts were creeping in. He followed her one night, discovering she'd been sneaking around with some rogue. He gave her a choice when he caught her - she could come back to camp and let the leader deal with her betrayal, or she could leave and he would tell the Clan that she missed the soft kittypet life. He returned to camp without her and heartbroken. Still now, he suffers from that betrayal, but his relationship with his brothers has florished again.
recently It hasn't been long since Speckleclaw left him, and he has a severe mistrust when it comes to romance now. He still desperately tries to communicate with his mother, but she remains empty and depressed, selfishly so. He is getting ready to convince her to move to the elder's den. He has decided all he needs are his brothers, though he fears that he will lose them as well when they find she-cats for themselves one day. He does his best to be that fatherly figure to his former apprentice, though understands that the young warrior deserves to be treated as a peer as well. (this will be uncrossed if he recieves the position..)It came as a great shock to him when Coyotestar chose him as deputy instead of somone like Jackelfang. He took it in a dazed stride, though, constantly worrying that he will not live up to be the leader he knows he must be one day.
