"Friends" for Darkfang would mostly be friendly acquaintances. He has a knack for keeping others at a distance, so it would have to be a very special cat who could claim they actually know Darkfang on such a personal level. Most cats will know Darkfang as the polite, loyal, and quiet deputy of ShadowClan. However, there's a lot under the surface to explore; Darkfang is deeply conflicted and consequently, philosophical. Because of this, he's likely to forge some complex relationships with characters of all kinds. Bring whatever you got and we'll have some fun, eh?

It's not impossible for Darkfang to have enemies. Just know that it will be mostly one-sided, as Darkfang is not easily goaded into showing anger. He'll definitely form opinions about others, but he finds things to like and dislike in everyone. Having a character who is arrogant and loud-mouthed isn't enough to invoke Darkfang's wrath; you'll find that Darkfang just doesn't give a damn. However, feel free to suggest plots like these! Darkfang's relationships will be just as conflicted as he is, so he won't have much distinction between friend and foe. Love-hate, opposites attract, destructive relationships, manipulative relationships, the list goes on. So throw some of your creative ideas my way and we'll work something out!

The position is (tentatively) open. Darkfang formed a strong bond with his last apprentice; however, Wrenpaw was killed by a fox before becoming a warrior. This would definitely affect his relationship with a new apprentice. Also, he's only recently become ShadowClan deputy and is still getting used to the extra responsibility. Having an apprentice would add to the struggle -- but that's never a bad thing (for our plotting purposes). I'd like this mentor-apprentice relationship to mostly develop organically, so I'd like them to be young -- say around six or seven moons old. Aside from this, I'm pretty open to anything! Just tell me your ideas and we'll work something out.

I'd love for someone to adopt Mapleheart! I do have an idea of her personality and appearance, but don't be afraid to get creative. c: I always imagined that she'd be friendly, kind, and an overall "mothering" type of cat. She's also very loyal and intelligent -- if you need advice or a shoulder to cry on, she's the cat to look for. Mapleheart and Darkfang have this odd sort of relationship, one where she's probably the one to know him best but feels she could know him better. I think it's likely these two would pursue the bond they had as apprentices; after all, they've went through a lot and would look to each other for support.

wolfheart&&darkfang
i feel as though wolf and dark would have a good frienship despite being from seperate clans. darkfang is the kind of cat that wolfheart would have an easy time respecting, aaand if wolfheart ends up as deputy as i'm hoping he will, it'd make for good plotting down the road if they had a tentative friendship between them, creating a possible aliance someday when they're leaders (of course that all depends on wolf getting the position). wolfheart is a tom that is a little bit more open about his emotions than darkfang, leaving his heart on his sleeve. i can see him even aspiring to be a little more like darkfang in his sensibility. and it'd be fun since darkfang secretly likes the creative, innovative, passionate kind of way of thinking - which is what wolfheart shamelessly has.

Darkfang && Wolfheart

I can definitely see these two having a mutual respect for each other. If Wolfheart were deputy, it would only solidify the relationship -- Darkfang is painstakingly aware that his fellow deputies will one day be his fellow leaders. I think Wolfheart would seem interesting to him; not only because he's passionate and innovative, but because he's what Darkfang would see as a "good guy". Darkfang has always romanced an idealistic moral of "good" and yet he's not sure if one truly exists. Wolfheart's certainty of who he is and what he believes in would fascinate Darkfang. I can see them getting along quite well, although I'd imagine Darkfang would challenge him with some philosophical questions now and then. All in all, I'd love to see this friendship develop. Especially since they'll be on differing sides of the new plot (although Darkfang sides with his Clan out of duty, not conviction or aligned beliefs).

Cherrystar&Darkfang:
Deputy and leader forming a more solid bond of trust by becoming friends. I just received the position of ShadowClan leader, and I feel it might be good to have her get to know her deputy a bit more. The duo should become friends, and work closely together. She is nearly 10 moons older than him, and is quite understanding of loosing family and loved ones. And no one knows about her kits, Flowerstem and Dustleap. He could get her to open up about the kits, and the two could become good friends.

Darkfang && Cherrystar

It makes sense that they'd have to work closely together and out of that, form a bond. Darkfang was not expecting to become deputy -- but he takes it seriously enough and has a strong sense of duty in his position (marked by a loyalty to Cherrystar). He's a bit of a loyal drone, so he'll do anything she asks. The relationship becoming something more than professional and an actual friendship is interesting. Darkfang regards his Clan, position, and relationships objectively; they are his job. But I think it would be awesome if they started getting comfortable with each other and start to form a friendship (considering both of them, however, it might take some time... cute little closed-up boxes that they are <3). Let's have a thread and see how it all plays out. Would you like to create one or shall I?
