SkyClan

Warrior
Appearance:
Raggedfur is a black-and-white she-cat. A large black spot starts at her shoulder and back area and extends to her lower side and wraps around her haunches. This spot continues and covers her whole tail, which has long, feathery fur. Black covers her eyes and extends to her cheeks and then goes up to cover the rest of her head. The bridge of her nose is also black, but it lean toward the left side of her face more and joins the rest of the black on her face, so that there is a small white strip that starts from her nose and goes between her eyes. Her bottom jaw is also black. She is a small white spot on the top of her head. Her fur length long, though on her tail is slightly longer. Her fur is soft like down. She has short but expressive ears, long white whiskers, and a black nose.
Raggedfur is blind. Her eyes are a milky bluish-white color. They almost look pupil-less, making her look kind of frightening. Sometimes it will seem like she is just staring off into space when she is really paying attention to something with her sharp ears. She is built like any other SkyClan cat: for jumping. Her shoulders and haunches are very muscular compared to the rest of her body, so she can use the skill StarClan gave to her Clan well. Despite being blind, she can hunt well. She loves jumping into trees to hunt squirrels or birds. Her paws are as quiet as smoke on the forest floor. She is an great hunter on the ground and an excellent hunter in the trees. Her body was built for speed, not fighting; Raggedfur's legs are long and skinny, making her the perfect runner.
Personality:
There are two sides to Raggedfur. One is a rude, cruel cat and the other is calm, kind, and easy-going. She is incredibly protective of her Clanmates and loved ones- this may be one of her only flaws. She would die to save them. However, this is not always the case. About half the time she'll either do that or say something like, "Go jump off of a cliff and leave me alone." She is rather moody, even dramatic at times. A lot of the time she prefers to be by herself- her early world revolved around her and her mentor her whole life, then at night by herself while she was hunting. She doesn't really enjoy being in a large crowd or speaking to an audience, but will do it if she had to. Raggedfur isn't really shy- she'll voice her opinion to any cat any time- but her tongue gets tied for some reason when in front of a lot of cats. This, and when she has a crush on another cat, are the only two times when she is at a loss for words or is especially nice and not so argumentative. Quarrelsome is one word that any cat may label her with, and it is usually true. She loves to fight verbally, and when she is correct (or wins the argument) she is rather smug. Unfortunately, Raggedfur is always cheeky and disrespectful. When she was the medicine cat apprentice, she had low tolerance for warriors who acted like kits. She believed that the only ones who deserved to be crying over an injury were the actual kits. When holding this position, she was especially rude to the warriors and apprentices that complained of their wounds. Raggedfur, when she was Raggedpaw and the medicine cat apprentice, always had a soft spot for the kits anyway. At the time she believed she would never have a mate or kits of her own, since it was forbidden and against the warrior code. But now that she is a warrior, she privately wants them, even if she refuses to admit it herself.
Arrogance can also describe Raggedfur. She is incredibly pompous when it comes to anything about her except her hunting ability and her looks. In the least amount of word, Raggedfur is a beautiful cat. Most cannot deny this fact, and when someone says this to her, she usually gets quiet. When she is hunting (which is something she is superb at doing), and another cat compliments her- most the time just being able to do it, due to being blind- makes her feel embarrassed. Raggedfur knows she is an excellent hunter, but she would rather not boast about this ability. Most of the time, Raggedfur is dogmatic, which is a good leader quality. Though besides this, she and everyone else know that she would not be a good leader of any Clan. She gets angry easily, is an overall jerk, and too proud for her own good. Sometimes she may be called condescending and haughty. These word, when used against her, usually don't effect her because they're true.
Despite all of this, Raggedfur can actually be a rather sweet cat. Although she doesn't have a mate, she is tenderhearted to those she has a crush on. Whenever she isn't being rude and moody, Raggedfur is actually a good cat. She can be compassionate, kind, and sympathetic if she wants to be, making her a really good ally and friend when this "side" of her is out. She will also protect others more often instead of arguing when she is feeling nicer. She is also quite generous- if it is leaf-bare, Raggedfur will often give her portion of food to a hungry elder, queen, or kit. Those are the cats she is usually always benevolent to. Lastly, Raggedfur is easy-going. She is happy to reside anywhere, as long is she is well-fed and with her Clanmates. Although it may not seem like it, she secretly loves every single cat in SkyClan. This is probably due to training as a medicine cat apprentice- her view on these cats was that she was their mother. She still carries these feelings, even as a warrior. This easy-going quality, however, doesn't make her the most loyal cat, but she is still dedicated to her Clan and fulfilling their needs.
History:
Raggedkit was born in SkyClan to Swiftbranch, her mother, and Nightleap, her father. She had two sisters named Hawkkit and Aspenkit. Shortly after she opened her eyes, her parents noticed something odd about her. This wasn't about her spiky, kink-like fur she was born with, which is what gave her her name. Unlike her siblings, Raggedkit's eyes were white and milky. Compared to Aspenkit's and Hawkkit's blue eyes, she looked strange. The medicine cat of SkyClan told Swiftbranch and Nightleap that she was blind. They were both worried and afraid that one of their daughters wouldn't be able to become a warrior. Though Raggedkit grew up fine, unfazed by the fact that she was unable to see. She pounced on leaves, like she was hunting, just the same as her siblings did. Though their leader, Rollingstar, thought that she couldn't be an apprentice due to her blindness. He believed that life as a warrior would be too demanding for a blind cat. Her parents insisted that she became a warrior, and the three of them watched Raggedkit play from afar. Raggedkit was unaware of these conversations, which continued constantly throughout kithood. Rollingstar suggested that she could be the medicine cat apprentice, though Raggedkit wasn't interested in herbs, unlike her sister, Hawkkit.
As the three kits reached their sixth moon, it was time to decided what was going to be done. Rollingstar still didn't think that Raggedkit could be a warrior, and despite Hawkkit's undeniable interest in the medicines, he appointed Raggedpaw as the medicine cat apprentice. Hawkpaw, of course, expecting the position, was angry with her sister, believing that it was all her fault. Raggedpaw was incredibly disappointed- she wanted to train to be a SkyClan warrior. Aspenpaw was practically unaware that her siblings were both angry with the positions given to them.
Raggedpaw's mentor was named Sharpbramble. He was an older medicine cat, incredibly rude and blunt. Being young and easily influenced, this is from where Raggedpaw picked up her bad behavior. Including the fact that she was training to be the medicine cat apprentice, which was something she did not enjoy, Raggedpaw was an overall grumpy cat throughout apprenticehood. She was short and angry with others- her tongue always barbed. Sometimes she was almost as bad as her mentor. Her parents noticed how upset she was, but they couldn't persuade Rollingstar to allow her to train as a warrior.
Against her will, Raggedpaw learned the medicines. Though when she wasn't needed and without another cat noticing, she was constantly hunting. Even though she was blind, she was able to jump from treetop to treetop, in pursuit of squirrels or birds. Never was she clumsy on her paws- even when she first started to teach herself to hunt, it was like she was meant to all along. Sure, she slipped out of the trees a few times, hurting her shoulders, but they were always injuries she could deal with without another cat noticing. Raggedpaw was afraid that if someone found out about her hunting that she wouldn't be allowed to leave camp without the supervision of another cat. So she decided that it was best if it were kept a secret. Hawkpaw was still unhappy that she had to be a warrior, but they no longer blamed each other for their predicament. When they were around twelve moons old, Hawkpaw and Aspenpaw became warriors. Their new names were Hawkwing and Aspentail. Raggedpaw was jealous that she hadn't been in the ceremony with them, but she was happy for them the same.
Soon after, Raggedpaw was out hunting in the treetops again. This time one cat saw her sneak out of the camp- it was Rollingstar. She caught a fat squirrel and a blackbird, then dropped to the forest floor and hunted a mouse. Rollingstar, unaware of her ability, was impressed. When she returned to camp, Rollingstar was there waiting for her. He told her that he saw her hunting- and she was afraid that she was in trouble. Then he asked her if she really wanted to be the medicine cat apprentice in the first place- and told her to be honest when answering. Of course, she said no immediately. After that, he insisted that she trained to be a warrior, which is the one thing she really wanted. She accepted and began to train with the half-blind warrior named Boulderpelt. After that, Hawkwing asked Rollingstar if she could train to be the medicine cat apprentice. Both he and Sharpbramble accepted her to the position.
Raggedpaw knew a lot about hunting, but there were still a lot she had to learn. Boulderpelt, knowing the situation (at least, half of it) she was in, was the perfect mentor for her. He would use just his ears and nose while teaching her to hunt to put himself in her paws. Though they didn't concentrate on hunting very much, since Raggedpaw was already a professional at it and could probably teach a new apprentice to hunt. What would be hard was fighting. How would a blind cat be useful in any battle? She couldn't even see her opponent. Boulderpelt had an excellent idea that would help Raggedpaw. He would describe to her exactly how he wanted a crouch to look- where to place her paws and how low to the ground she had to be, for example. Then he would make her attack him. Boulderpelt would close his one good eye so he would be training exactly like his apprentice. This process started out painfully slow. At first, Boulderpelt would have to talk constantly so Raggedpaw could know where he was. Though over time, he talked less an less. Raggedpaw got good at fighting, too. Though she certainly wasn't the best fighter in SkyClan, she was exceptional for being blind. Boulderpelt was incredibly patient and kind to Raggedpaw. The two grew very close over time. Raggedpaw realized that she had a crush on her mentor, but he didn't seem to feel this way toward her.
Eventually, Raggedpaw was made a warrior. She had to train from the very beginning when she first became a warrior apprentice, so she was around twenty moons when she finally earned her warrior name. The Clan was convinced that she would be an excellent, useful warrior to SkyClan despite being blind. Rollingstar decided to name her Raggedfur, even though the spiky fur she had been born with was now elegant and beautiful. Raggedfur was happy to finally be a warrior. Little did she know that her warriorhood was planned. Around that time, the rats began be a problem. They would invade the camp, and the whole Clan thought it was time to do something about them. SkyClan sent warriors and apprentices to fight off the rats in their own territory, but most of the time it ended badly for the cats. Luckily, when Raggedfur was sent into some of these battles, she was left with few injuries. Around this same time, Raggedfur got her first apprentice named Sandpaw.
Later, the Clan claimed that they should leave. The fighting got so bad, and their numbers were depleting. The rats were taking over SkyClan territory. Bengalstorm, the deputy at the time, suggested that they leave their territory forever. Most cats agreed with him, including Raggedfur. Though the injuries she got from fighting, she saw many of her Clanmates be slaughtered under the sharp teeth of the rats. One of the only cats who disagreed was the leader himself. Rollingstar didn't want to leave their territory, which they had for so long, and trek into unknown territory. Raggedfur, although afraid of change, voiced her opinion- they had to leave, or they would all be killed. Bengalstorm, wanting what was best for his Clan, overthrows Rollingstar and becomes the leader of SkyClan. That is when SkyClan leaves on their journey.
