Coyotesong's fur is a deep russet red color, fading to a lighter tawny on her chest, belly, and undertail. Her fur is ticked - meaning very hair has a variety of colors in it, giving her an almost wild-cat or coyote/wolf/fox like appearance. On her back is a dark red stripe that merges with a dark red, almost black, tail tip. The black ticking is darker on her rump and her haunches and elbows. Her face has tabby-like stripes on her forehead, leading to her eyes, almost in the shape of an M.  

The only spot of white on her russet red fur is her jowls and under-chin which shines in contrast to her red fur. Her ears are large and full of expression, and her nose is a dark rosy pink color. Her tail is like a plume and very bushy. Her pale green eyes are lined with tawny and a dark fading stripe leading to her cheekbones. Overall, she is very fox like due to her pelt color, her thick tail, and longer "mane" on her chest/neck fur.

Coyotestar is highly dedicated to her duty to the Clan. She will go out of her way to make sure all the patrols are done and the Clan has enough food. Oftentimes, she will go on as many patrols as she can, even if it means missing a night's sleep. Even after becoming leader of RiverClan, she still believes her duty is to serve her Clan so she often helps out with patrols and hunting with the warriors. She would much rather spend her time outside providing for her Clan and being useful than stuck inside the camp.

She is respectful to all other cats, whether they are of RiverClan or from another Clan. Although she is respectful with her words, she doesn't like to follow rules of authority. When she was an apprentice and warrior, she would after go against the judgement of the leader, deputy, or her mentor and do what she thought was right. Oftentimes this would get her into trouble. Also when she was younger, she was very adventurous. Becoming leader of RiverClan after Featherstar hasn't really changed that aspect of her personality. She likes to be alone and is mostly a cat of solitude. She enjoys wandering beyond RiverClan territory, exploring the land behind them and around the neighboring Twoleg place.

As a leader, she is compassionate, patient, and calm but also very strict. She doesn't take no for an answer and is a "no nonsense" type of cat. She also has bit of a temper and is argumentative with others, especially with warriors who don't support her decisions. She believes that she is always right, no matter what the issue is. Because of this, many cats view her as stubborn and in all honesty, she is. However, she is also very helpful, kind and compassionate to others, even other Clans. All in all, she has the welfare of her own Clan in mind but would go out of her way to help another Clan if need be.

She is not one to start battles with other Clans. However she does have a tendency to be hot headed and rash. At times she will make decisions rather quickly that some of the senior warriors look down upon or disagree with. If provoked in the right way, she will dive head-first into battle. Only later will she look back on her actions and realize how foolish she was. Usually though she is the kind of cat who will gather all the facts and information on how it will affect her Clan before she acts.


History:

kitten: Coyotekit was born into RiverClan. Her mother was a light cream colored tabby she-cat named Tawnystripe. Her father was a large grey senior warrior named Ashwhisker. She had three siblings named Leopardkit, a large white she-cat with black flecks, Firekit, a pale russet she-cat, and Rowankit, a blue and white tabby tom. As a kitten, she was very respectful toward her elders but also super adventurous. It was hard for her mother to keep her inside the nursery because all Coyotekit and her siblings wanted to do was explore and help the Clan like a warrior would. She was much like a typical kit in this way.

apprentice: As was the tradition, after six moons, Coyotekit became Coyotepaw and began her training to become a warrior. Her siblings became Leopardpaw, Firepaw, and Rowanpaw. Her mentor's name was Voletooth who was the current deputy at the time.  Her life as an apprentice was very typical: she tried her best to do everything she possibly could for her Clan and would not wait to become a warrior. However she had a bit of a rebellious side and if Featherstar, Voletooth, or another warrior asked her to do something she didn't believe in, she would go against their orders and do what she thought was right. This aspect of her usually referred to her wanting to drive a loner or rogue out or to even let them stay, depending on the situation. She loved training with Voletooth, whether it was hunting or fighting. He was a wonderful mentor and taught her well. Her main strength was in battles as she was quick witted and light on her paws. Her skills at hunting were average - she was a good hunter, just not spectacular.        

warrior: After saving her brother Rowanpaw and her mentor Voletooth by driving off a fox that had tossed them into the river, Featherstar and her deputy decided it was time that young Coyotepaw become a warrior. Because her training with Voletooth was complete, she received her warrior name: Coyotesong. Her siblings also received their warrior names: Leopardfoot, Firestrike, and Rowanleaf. Her rebellious personality carried on as she became a warrior. As a warrior, she would go out of her way to join as many patrols as she could. She strived to do her best for the Clan, even at the cost of her own happiness or life. Being a skillful fighter, she was often chosen to fight during battles and had many victories against the other Clans. However, not long after she received her warrior name, Tawnystripe died of greencough. The death of her mother took a heavy toll on her and softened the sharp edge to her personality.

After her mother's death, Coyotesong was very forlorn. She spent a lot of her time alone and rarely wanted to be around other cats, even her best friend Honeybird. Soon after however, she found love and comfort in the paws of a ThunderClan cat, whom she had met many times at Gatherings. The ThunderClan tom's was named Elkshadow, a brown and black striped tabby tom. Although Coyotesong was well aware that loving a cat from another Clan was against the warrior code, she couldn't change her feelings toward the tom. The two would meet regularly in the Horseplace and the Moonpool. It wasn't long before Coyotesong was expecting his kits.

Elkshadow urged Coyotesong to join ThunderClan and have a life there with him, though she could not abandon the Clan she so desperately loved. In the end, she kept her pregnancy a secret, even to the medicine cat named Maplefall. This was easy enough as RIverClan had no trouble finding prey and were often fluffy and plump during the season of her pregnancy. However, everything changed for Coyotesong when the current deputy Ivyclaw died in a battle against ShadowClan. Featherstar then appointed her as deputy of RiverClan, much to her surprise. Knowing fully well that she-cat leaders were unable to have kits, Coyotesong turned to her friend Honeybird who was currently in the nursery expecting kits around the same time as Coyotesong. Honeybird agreed to keep her secret and mothered her kits Deerkit and Graykit. Only Honeybird and Coyotesong are aware of their true parentage. After becoming deputy, Coyotesong cut off all ties with Elkshadow, telling him nothing about his kits. She didn't even want to see him again.

deputy: Sometimes she would see Elkshadow at gatherings. She would ignore the tom cat, refusing to talk to him unless absolutely necessary. Coyotesong's time as deputy was shorter than most. She helped lead her Clan to greatness along with Featherstar, who was on her last life. When Featherstar lost her last life due to an injury, Coyotesong found herself as leader of RIverClan all too soon.

leader: Newly appointed, Coyotesong is currently making her way to the Moonpool to recieve her nine lives. She has not chosen a deputy yet.
