Name(s):Hawkkit HawkpawHawkwing
Gender:
She-cat
Age:
32 moons
Clan:
SkyClan
Rank:
Medicine Cat
Appearance:
Hawkwing is mostly a smoky white hued she-cat. She has point-like markings similar to that of a siamese cat, though there is none in her heritage as far as she is aware. Her face, legs, and tail on a blue-grey color, fading into white on her shoulders, the base of her tail, and cheekbones. Her large sharp pointed ears are also dipped with the blue-grey fur. Her nose is a dark grey, only slightly darker than the fur on the face. The most stunning feature about her are her icy blue eyes which shine brightly against the contrast of her dark hued face. Faint stripes line her forehead and a darker grey rims the edges of her ears. Her chin is slightly lighter as it fades in the the white on her chest. Her whisker pads are lighter grey as well, supporting strong white whiskers. The fur underneath her eyes is a slightly lighter grey - though it is not incredibly noticeable.
The darkest of her "points" is her face, which is much darker than her legs and tail. Her legs are a lighter grey, almost more of a silver color than anything else. Her tail is much the same, although it darkens to the blue-grey of her face at the very tip. The fur on her tail is long and thick but thinner at the base of her tail. Her coat is medium length, slightly on the longer side. Her build is average: she is not too skinny, not too muscular. Her back legs and haunches are strong, perfect for a SkyClan cat.
Personality:
stern, blunt, cold-hearted, callous, manipulative, selfish, doubtful, stringy
large belief in starclan
History:
kitten: Hawkkit was born into SkyClan from her mother, Swiftbranch, and her father, Nightleap. Her mother was a small brown and white tabby she-cat while her father was a large black and white tom with long fur. She had two siblings: Raggedkit and Aspenkit. Raggedkit was a black and white she-cat with long fluffy fur; she looked very similar to her father. Aspenkit was a slender tiny thing and pure gray from her nose to tail tip. Hawkkit's first few moons of her life were very similar to any typical kits: she played with moss balls and chased the falling leaves. However unlike most kits, right from the beginning she showed a passionate interest in herbs and duties held within the medicine cat den. She had very little interest in becoming a warrior. She expressed this love earnestly to her parents and leader. Having most of their attention of Raggedkit, they paid little heed to Hawkkit and her sister. Because Raggedkit was blind, Swiftbranch and Nightleap worried over her more than most. Even Rollingstar, the current leader of SkyClan at the time, seemed to favor the blind kit. This hardened Hawkkit's heart at a very young age, although she never did give up her enthusiasm for herbs and healing.
apprentice: Once the three kits reached the age of six moons, they were made into apprentices. Raggedpaw was appointed as medicine cat apprentice. This angered Hawkpaw and she blamed her sister from taking the position she wanted more than anything. Though Raggedpaw showed no interest in being a medicine cat, Rollingstar forced her into the position anyway, believing that she would not be able to make it as a warrior because of her blindness. Because of this, the relationship between the two sisters was very strained. Hawkkit was young and naive and although she knew it was not the position her sister had wanted either, Hawkkit took the majority of her anger out on Raggedpaw. Realistically, she should have been mad at just Rollingstar but it was a lot easier for the young she-cat to use her sister as her personal scratching post since they shared the same den.
Her mentor was named Spiderpool, a black she-cat with a half tail, who was a young warrior at the time. She was already a well respected warrior and made a good mentor. Hawkpaw's disinterest in becoming a warrior caused her to be quite a handful for Spiderpool. Not that she didn't want to be taught how to fight or hunt - she was just a bundle of anger and was always cold-hearted to Spiderpool, giving her the cold shoulder. However, Spiderpool taught her well and Hawkpaw soon became a very skilled fighter. Moons into her apprenticeship, she simply became numb. Hunting, training, replacing moss, etc. She did the motions but wasn't really "there". Her hunting skills were average, if not a little poor, but she tried her best for her Clan, even if this route was not for her. At the end of her apprenticeship, Raggedpaw and Hawkpaw made amends, not longer blaming each other for the predicament they were in. Hawkpaw tried not a hold it against her sister and just remained numb and focusing on her training, trying to ignore her dying interest to learn with Sharpbramble.
warrior: She was made a warrior when she was around twelve moons old and received her warrior name: Hawkwing. Her sister received her name of Aspentail. Her life as a warrior was short and relatively easy. The Clan was at peace for the most part, though the rats were becoming a problem rather quickly. She was only a warrior for a few moons when her sister Raggedpaw was caught by Rollingstar hunting alone in the forest near the gorge. Soon after, Rollingstar agreed to allow Raggedpaw to train to become a warrior, much to Hawkwing's delight. Jumping on the opportunity, Hawkwing badgered Rollingstar constantly about the position until he and Sharpbramble finally agreed that she could train and learn the ways of becoming a medicine cat. Finally, after what had seemed like a lifetime, Hawkwing was able to follow her passion.
medicine cat apprentice: Moving in the medicine cat den with Sharpbramble, Hawkwing got to know the old tom better than most. The old cat was callous and blunt, a "no nonsense", "matter-of-fact" type of cat. In fact, the old thing was rude to his patients more than anything. Hawkwing knew about this cat's personality - having heard stories from her sister and being around him in the camp. At first, Hawkwing was a little taken aback. She tried her best to remain calm and respectful of him - he was training her after all. But this got hard. The two were so much alike that they butted heads constantly. Hawkwing wasn't surprised that her sister had caught on to the old tom's bad words and foul personality, being as young as she had been when training under him. Sharpbramble's personality soon rubbed off on Hawkwing as well, although she was always more cold-hearted than her sister.
As moon passed, Sharpbramble taught all he knew to Hawkwing. Her sister became a warrior around this time, receiving the name of Raggedfur. Having to spend so much time with him, she began to understand him more. He had lost everything to the rats: his lover, his kits, and his father.... After that, he ended up learning the ways of medicine so he could help others instead of simply watching them die one after another. Taking this position did not soften his heart though. He had grown cold and easily angered as the seasons passed. After learning about his past, Hawkwing had no trouble having sympathy for Sharpbramble and understood why he had become the way he was. At least he had a reason for his callous personality. Hawkwing was just a malicious, unpleasant to be around, and incredibly selfish. She did not have much reason to act this way; she just was.
medicine cat: As soon as Sharpbramble believed he had taught the she-cat everything he knew, Hawkwing became the official SkyClan medicine cat while Sharpbramble retired to the elder's den, only to pass of old age not long after. The problem with the rats grew and grew, to the point where it was getting a little outrageous. Cats were dying left and right, some to the disease from the rat bites, others during the battles. Food became scarce and the Clan was starving, small, and lost. Hawkwing tried her hardest to heal the wounded as best she could. She soon lost faith in herself. Had StarClan abandoned them? Had they abandoned her? Hawkwing felt like she was not good enough of a medicine cat, although she voiced this to no one, not even her sister. As more cats were slaughtered, Bengelstorm, the current deputy at the time, suggested they leave the gorge. With a heavy heart, Hawkwing agreed, as did many others. Rollingstar refused to leave and Bengelstorm overthrows the leader, taking his position. Not long after, the Clan leaves the gorge, heading on a journey to seek help from the four Clans by the lake.
