The rest of her body has the brown-orange color here and there, though it it concentrated more on the back of her neck and shoulder area. At some points, this color is lighter and then gets darker on other parts of her body. Her chest is light orange, making her look kind of like a robin. Emberstrike's nose is black.
Emberstrike is a very small cat. Unlike the typical RiverClan cat, her shoulders are lean and slender. Her legs are short and thin; her head smaller than normal, making her ears look larger; her tail long. Emberstrike is a short-furred cat, but her fur is thick and dense. It is also water-proof, like a RiverClan cat's. Despite being so little, Emberstrike is a formidable fighter and good hunter.

shy but courageous, often reckless, clever, kind, loyal, independent
History:
Emberkit was born in RiverClan to Tawnystrike, her mother, and Ashwhisker, her father. She had two sisters and a brother- their names were Coyotekit, Leopardkit, and Rowankit. All four kits were incredibly close, so much that they were never seen without each other. They were a playful bunch and a handful for their parents, who could barely keep them in the nursery. Emberkit, at the time, was especially adventurous. She loved getting into anything that she wasn't supposed to get in. While her sister Coyotekit was very respectful to her elders, this wasn't the case with Emberkit. She'd bad-mouth anyone and everyone if she could- but, of course, she had manners, even if she was just a kit! Even though she was told to do many things that she didn't especially enjoy, she did them without complaining verbally. She thought these insults, though. As a kit, Emberkit was shy but also honest.
Her curiosity, however, sometimes got the better of her. While RiverClan was tucked away in their dens one night sleeping, the young kit snuck out of camp from behind the nursery. She only wanted to explore for a couple moments, then she'd slip back in. Though this wasn't what happened. Emberkit hadn't gone too far when she heard a rustling noise in the tall grass which grew high above her head. She headed in that direction, intrigued. She saw a black-and-white striped head, but didn't know what kind of animal it was. But the badger saw her, too, and as it charged toward her, Emberkit realized she was in danger. She turned and ran back to camp with the badger on her tail. A large log blocked her path, so she tried jumping over it. One of her claws on her right paw snagged on the rough bark, hooking her to it. She tried desperately to escape, and as she heard the badger getting closer, she yanked herself free after a couple tries. A warrior just so happened to be hunting near that area, who was named Dogtooth, and chased off the badger, which was actually just a cub and only slightly bigger than him. Though it could have caused serious damage to Emberkit and possibly killed her, and this is what he told her. That was when he noticed one claw of her's was unsheathed and bleeding heavily. He escorted her back to camp, which was awake now due to Tawnystrike realizing her disappearance. Dogtooth took Emberkit straight to Maplefall's den, who was limping behind him.
Everything about Emberkit changed that day.
Maplefall couldn't heal the claw. It was damaged pretty badly, but the bleeding would stop, and it was permanently unsheathed, she said. Over the next moon, Emberkit laid the medicine cat's den all day and night. The event had been terrifying for her- and plus, Maplefall said she couldn't leave. She could barely walk on her right paw and was always limping. By this time, her one unsheathed claw had grown unnaturally long and sharp. Her siblings visited her occasionally, but she wasn't allowed to play games with them. Maplefall was worried that she would hurt another cat, and she brought this up to the leader, Featherstar. The small gray and white leader was worried with Emberkit's well-being, and secretly thought that her apprentice ceremony would have to be put aside for a later date. She was reaching her sixth moon rather quickly. Though, over the next couple weeks, Emberkit made exceptional progress. She could run around like any other kit, but she was a little lopsided still. The apprentices and other kits teased her and called her Hookclaw or said she walked like a badger. Her mother, whom she was especially close to, told them to leave her alone. But they didn't listen to the young queen, and continued to call Emberkit these names anyway. Emberkit became nervous, cautious, careful, and finicky- quite the opposite of her former self before the badger attack.
When Emberkit reached her sixth moon, she was given the name Emberpaw. Her siblings were also given their apprentice names as Coyotepaw, Leopardpaw, and Rowanpaw. Though she distanced herself from anyone but her mother, and barely even acknowledged her apprentice ceremony. Surprisingly, Emberpaw was given Tawnystrike to mentor her. "The only thing that won't feel the sting behind Emberpaw is her mother's love," was what Featherstar had said. While her siblings had been excited to prove themselves to the Clan, Emberpaw slept in late, was a poor hunter at best, often missing prey or just letting it go, and just overall didn't care. She was tired of the jibes the others threw at her. She felt worthless, but was too afraid to do or say anything. Her mother gave her space when it seemed like she needed it or talked to her at other times. Emberpaw seemed to snap out of this feeling of self-hate and self-pity when she was around nine moons old.
This was also the same time when she met Cherrypaw, a ShadowClan apprentice and also her cousin. At her first Gathering, she met the older apprentice and they found out they were kin. Cherrypaw seemed to pick Emberpaw up. Being around her cousin made her happy, for once. The only two cats she really cared about were Cherrypaw and Tawnystrike. Those were the only ones who weren't rude to her at some point or ignored her. Since Emberpaw was getting to be a better apprentice, she was allowed to go to nearly every Gathering. She only spoke with Cherrypaw, who by now was a warrior named Cherrysong. Although she wasn't afraid of everything as much as she used to be, she was still incredibly shy.
Wanting to make it up to her mother for being such a terrible daughter and apprentice, Emberpaw strived to be the best she could. During her hunting practices, Emberpaw caught as much prey as any warrior. She was afraid of hurting her mother, however, in battle practice. Before, she'd shake so much before battle training that Tawnystrike would say, "We'll just do that tomorrow, okay?" But tomorrow never came, for Emberpaw was frightened of it and her mother knew it. Though it came a time when it had to come, and it was then that Emberpaw mustered up enough courage to ask her mother to teach her. At ten moons, much later than her siblings, Emberpaw began to learn to fight. After practice, Tawnystrike walked back to camp bleeding through multiple cuts, but with her head held high. Emberpaw, although small, fought well. Though despite this, she never managed to impress the other apprentices and young warriors who still called her Hookclaw. Tawnystrike, being motherly, just told her to ignore them.
A couple moons later, all four apprentices were named warriors. Emberpaw was given the name Emberstrike, for her undeniable fighting skill and after her mother. Her siblings were named Coyotesong, Leopardfoot, and Rowanleaf. As a warrior, Emberstrike was just as determined to prove herself as when she was an older apprentice. And even though she was no longer her apprentice, Tawnystrike and Emberstrike always did everything together. Eventually they were never seen apart. Though this all changed whenever her mother suddenly died of greencough that leaf-bare. It was devastating to the whole Clan, but no one hurt more than Emberstrike. Tawnystrike had not only been her mother, but her mentor and best friend. The young warrior laid in her nest all day for days at a time, not bothering to talk to anyone or eat. Everyone gave her space to grieve, and this was not only because they wanted to let her be by herself, but also because she had no friends in RiverClan.
To try to cheer Emberstrike up, Featherstar gave her her first apprentice. His name was Shrewpaw. Emberstrike had him under her wing for about a moon, when something terrible happened to him. She had grown so used to her one unsheathed claw, that when battle training, she got too carried away. Shrewpaw was left bleeding and barely moving by the end of the session, and she rushed him to the medicine cat's den. He would survive, but Featherstar thought it was best if Shrewpaw was given a new mentor. The leader never offered her a new apprentice, and Emberstrike was too afraid to accept one.
She found relief, however, in Cherrystar, who was the ShadowClan leader by now. She only found herself able to move through each day because of the Gathering each full moon, where she could meet her cousin. Emberstrike, unhappy with her life in RiverClan, asked Cherrystar if she could join ShadowClan. Around this same time, Coyotesong was named deputy. Everything reminded Emberstrike of her mother in her Clan, and she just wanted to escape it all. Cherrystar said that she would be welcomed into ShadowClan. The next day, Emberstrike asked Featherstar if she could leave and join ShadowClan. The leader didn't stop her, and that night, Emberstrike slipped away and headed toward ShadowClan territory. She didn't want to make a scene in the morning by saying goodbye to all of her Clanmates. At first, the ShadowClan cats were wary of her presence. They thought she was a spy and believed if she left RiverClan, then she'd betray them, too. Though six moons later, Emberstrike managed to prove her loyalty to the ShadowClan cats by being the best warriors she could.
